Handpicked and built like a heirloom. A 1976 Aljean of Canada tartan kilt skirt in pure virgin wool — thick, structured and beautifully woven, with sharp pleats, fringe trim, a traditional wrap-style front, three covered buttons, interior button closure and the original kilt pin. Tag 12 (fits Women's M) — 29" waist, 29" length, excellent vintage condition. It casts Retro Chic as a winter-academia lead and the Festival Kid with a preppy-punk streak — retro-prep energy that photographs like a whole backstory in one hem.

Nothing here is mass-produced and nothing goes to waste — every piece already existed before we reworked it into a one-of-one. We build with organic Desserto cactus leather, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified organic cotton and rescued, recycled and upcycled overstock, using zero animal glues and only non-toxic leather paint. Every order offsets its carbon, plants a tree, and arrives in a recyclable box made from post-consumer waste. Sustainability isn't our pitch — it's just how we make wearable art.
Transparency
We think you should know exactly who made your piece and how. Our part-time team in San Diego works in a healthy, genuinely fun studio and earns 50-100% above California's minimum wage, with remote work welcomed for our business side. Each garment costs us about $65 to make — roughly one hour of labor and $40 in materials — and is handmade by our California-based seamstress Rosa Sanchez.
